Coronavirus Update: NJ Gov. Phil Murphy Issues 4 New Executive Orders this Week

As the coronavirus outbreak continues to overwhelm New Jersey with positive cases and its highest single-day increase in COVID-19 deaths, Gov. Phil Murphy issued four new executive orders this week.

Murphy said the declaration of a public health emergency for New Jersey will be extended by 30 days and all state and county parks are now closed to further emphasize the stay at home order

He also signed an executive order enforcing new restrictions on businesses that remain open. Since social distancing appears to be effectively curbing the spread of the virus in New Jersey, the new executive orders take social distancing a few steps further by now limiting the number of customers allowed inside essential stores and requiring all residents to wear masks in grocery stores to try to decrease the spread of coronavirus.
